Charles Eugene "Charlie" Upton, age 29

Charles Eugene "Charlie" Upton, age 29, of Forest City, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of Randy Dean Upton and Beverly Carol Byers. Charlie worked for Market Source, a vendor in the Walmart Supercenter; he was a star baseball player in his youth, a black belt in karate, an avid Duke fan, and professional DJ who had a passion for music. He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Raleigh Eugene Byers, Charles Upton, Jr., and Mary Frances Upton.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Stephanie Coffey of Forest City, brother, Randy Dean Upton, Jr. (Brook Boswell) of Forest City, a grandmother, Anna Kimbrell Byers of Forest City, an uncle, Terry Byers (Susan) of Forest City, two aunts, Sandy Marshal (Gary) of Forest City, Carole Robinson (Tim) of Forest City, and a nephew, Trey Upton of Forest City.

Funeral services were held in The Padgett & King Chapel. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
