Dorothy M. Mathis, age 85

Dorothy M. Mathis, age 85, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Born August 23, 1930 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Dennis McKinney and Annie Beam McKinney. She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Dorothy worked for Stonecutter Mills for many years and was a tutor for the Rutherford County Public Schools for several years. She also worked for the Kemet Corporation. Dorothy loved listening to gospel music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Mathis.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Mathis and fiancé, Cristie Carson; two grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
