Emma Irene Buckner, age 83

     Emma Irene Buckner, age 83, of, Forest City, NC, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015.

      Born October 13, 1941 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Marion D.M. Buckner and Mattie Bradburn Buckner. Emma worked for Roses Department Store in Marion for seventeen years and as a CNA for Edgewood and Hillcrest Nursing Homes. She was of the Baptist Faith.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah McFarland and three brothers, Kirmeth Buckner, Jack Buckner and Howard Buckner.

      Survivors include two nephews, David McFarland and wife, Edith of Shiloh Community and Todd Buckner and wife, Melanie of Marion; four nieces, Donna Proctor of Marion, Patricia Hyatt of Ardmore, AL, Cathy Dugger and husband, Ron of Athens, AL and Vanessa Inman also of Marion. She is also survived by a host of grandnephews and grandnieces.

      Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Danny McFarland officiating. A private interment followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
