Lois Doty Waters, age 88

     Lois Doty Waters, age 88, formerly of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

     Born June 17, 1926 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Columbus Mills Doty and Lillie Norvel Doty. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, class of 1943 and worked for Dover Textiles for many years. Lois was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and enjoyed dancing, going to Saturday morning yard sales and traveling.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Waters; two brothers, Robert and Ben Doty; two sisters, Ola Doty and Lucy Hampton.

     Survivors include two sons, Arnold Waters and wife, Ann of Forest City and Roger Waters and wife, Joyce of Rutherfordton; six grandchildren, Angela Waters McEntire and husband, Bruce, Audrey Waters Arrowood and husband, David, Tina Waters Melton, Michael Waters and wife, Summer, Alan Waters and Tyler Waters; six great-grandchildren, Austin McEntire, Dustin McEntire, Anna Arrowood, Lindsey Arrowood, Harley Upton and Kinley Waters.

      Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment followed in the Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery.
