A photo submitted by the Forest City Police Department to the North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Program was selected for their 2019 calendar for the month of August. In May of 2018, Chief Jay Jackson photographed Lt. Josh Bumgarner conducting a staged traffic stop of Senior Police Officer Alex Bentley on Westview Street at the Forest City Club House. Each year police and sheriff's departments throughout North Carolina make photo submissions for consideration highlighting their departments practices to make driving on our roadways safer.
