27th Annual Hot Night Cool Rides

The 27th Annual Hot Nights Cool Rides Car Show is fast approaching! Each year thousands flock to the small town of Forest City, North Carolina on the third weekend in August. It begins Saturday, August 18 at 9am and will continue until 8pm. This event is sponsored by the Forest City Merchants Association and the Town of Forest City. Each year over 400 cars, trucks, and motorcycles line both sides of the manicured, tree-lined historic Main Street. Over 60 classes of cars, trucks, and motorcycles are represented each year.

To kick off this year's event, a free cruise in and concert will be held on Friday, August 17 from 6pm-8:30pm at the Rutherford County Farmers Market on Park Square, just a short walk from Main Street. The Ocean Blvd Band from nearby Cleveland County will be performing at the cruise in. Even if you don't have a show car to bring, we invite everyone down to the Farmers Market to enjoy the live music and to visit with family and friends. You may even want to show off your shagging dance skills! Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of beach music on Park Square. Folks bringing show cars are asked to park on either side of the Farmers Market. Parking for the public is along historic Main Street and in the municipal lots between Main Street and Trade Street.

The annual car show is a free event. It is an alcohol free event and no pets are allowed. There is plenty of free parking available just one block over on both sides of Main Street.

Main Street restaurants along with other food vendors will be serving a variety of delicious food items, including hamburgers, hotdogs, turkey legs, livermush burgers, pizza, funnel cakes, ice cream, kettle corn, and fresh lemonade.

We kickoff our entertainment Saturday, August 18 at 9:30am with the Americana duo, Josh and Tyler. Regional television personality Jack Roper and the Weatherman Band take the stage at 11:30. Local bluegrass favorite, Wiregrass, will be on stage from 2:30-4:30. We wrap up with the Night Move Band playing from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Car registration is $25 per car, and includes a t-shirt, a chance to win trophies, and a chance to win other giveaways. T-shirts are also available for the general public to purchase.
