Allen Evans Atkinson, age 73

Allen Evans Atkinson, age 73, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on November 1, 2019.

He went to be with his Lord and his loved ones that were waiting for him with open arms. Allen was born on March 30, 1946 to the late James Oliver Atkinson and Iva Allen Atkinson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Scott Atkinson one brother Claude Atkinson, one sister Amanda Stancil and one brother-in-law James Elliott.

Left to cherish his memory is Jean McKinney one son James Allen Atkinson, one daughter Donna Lynn Thompson (Kent), three step-children Amanda Lee Bishop (Billy), Mike McKinney and Darrell McKinney, and one sister Peggie Atkinson Elliott and sister-in-law Sarah Atkinson. His six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren plus several nieces and nephews will also miss him.

He will be greatly missed but left us with many precious memories.

Service was held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Mooresboro, burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Allen was a veteran of the US Army and received military honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
