Pat Jobe (left) and Johnny Carson, former employees of the late Tommy Hicks, pose with the newly donated angel and marker. Pat Jobe is looking for old copies of The Amazin' Shopper for a book he's writing about Tommy. He can be reached at patjobe13@gm

Many years ago Tommy Hicks, founder and publisher of the Amazin' Shopper, was given an angel statue by his staff at the Shopper.

After Tommy died on September 26, 2017, Tommy's sisters donated the angel, which had been on display in Tommy's yard, to Johnny Carson. Johnny is Tommy's longtime friend, helper and employee. Johnny wanted to have a memorial to his friend and decided to place it in the garden behind the Church for the Exceptional in Henrietta. He wanted a marker to explain the significance of the angel, so he ordered the stone marker that includes Tommy's nickname "The Big Man".

On February 7, 2018, Johnny Carson, Pat Jobe, and Tim Luckadoo installed the marker in front of the angel. It can be viewed on the church grounds.
