Ann Arrowood Simmons, age 73

Ann Arrowood Simmons, age 73, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012.

Ann was born, March 7, 1939, in Rutherford County to the late John Wesley Arrowood and Bazzie Hardin Arrowood.  She was a loving mother who greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time gardening and reading.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bud Hardin, Wesley Arrowood and Donald Arrowood.

     She is survived by her husband, Marshall E. Simmons and five sons, Steve K. Roper and wife, Lisa and Sean P. Roper of Forest City, Donald S. Roper and wife, Trena of Boiling Springs, SC, Gary S. Roper and wife, Melinda and Greg D. Roper, all of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Ronald Arrowood of Henrietta and Norman Arrowood of Ruth; one sister, Shirley Bates of Gaffney, SC; and nine grandchildren.  

Funeral services were conducted at Harrelson Funeral Home with Reverend Neil Haynes officiating.  Interment followed in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
