All That Racquet, Comes From The NCAA Bracket
All That Racquet, Comes From The NCAA Bracket

March Madness has finally arrived, 68 team vie to be the national champ in collegiate hoops and the bracket was released this past Sunday.

All that noise you here around work this week, likely has to do with who will take the 2012 title. So, why not go through the ACC teams in it and my random thoughts on the tourney itself.

Deservedly, N. C. State makes the tourney to give the ACC five teams. However, they draw a very good sixth-seeded San Diego St. in the first round. I think that’s a good test for the Wolfpack and it should be a great game. N. C. State has been my sleeper all year and I do like them to get past the first round with Howell, Leslie and a surging Brown doing the damage. I have them out in the second round as they have to face Georgetown.

She Gives Comfort, Warmth, & Thanks... The Afghan Lady
She will tell you how she was “inspired by God” to do what she is doing. Because of her family, she has always admired the military. She’ll remind you that her parents sent “five boys into the armed services to serve our country and fortunately they all came back.” Her name is Betty Clark. She too wanted to join the Air Force. However, her parents disapproved. She is now 81 years old and still loves the military. “I have such compassion for all the veterans, especially for those that are suffering. I think after they’ve served, they’re too often forgotten. If every citizen visited a VA hospital, they would never forget what they’d see.”

Listen To Life
Got a guide?

A friend of mine went rock climbing.  He emailed me some pictures from his adventure.  One shot was from the bottom of the rock he climbed, looking straight up a sheer face that was really tall.  Several others were from various places along the way.

I asked him, “How did you climb straight up like that?”

Outdoor Truths
I’ve always been a country boy at heart. And even though I longed to leave in my high school years, there was something that drew me back to the humble surroundings of my country way of living. It’s not always easy balancing this lifestyle with progress. It almost doesn’t seem right to want a rustic log cabin with a microwave. I want cows and dogs but a big screen T.V. would be nice as well. And I’m sure that even though my wife wants a clothes line in the back yard, she sure couldn’t do without her heavy duty washer and dryer. I want a garden, but I’d sure rather plow it with a new John Deere rather than an old mule.
