All County Teams Fall In Playoffs, But Chesnee Keeps Rolling

Unfortunately, the pads, helmets and cleats are to be put away for Rutherford County this season following a turnover prone weekend on the football field in the first round of the playoffs.

In the 1A playoffs, Thomas Jefferson got an early bounce in their favor, but not another went their way the rest of a very rainy and soggy night in Mooresboro.

Listen To Life
Dr. Joey Faucette
Listen To Life

How much do you learn as the teacher?

Every time I find myself teaching someone something, I’m amazed by how much I learn.  For instance, our younger daughter received her learner’s permit to drive.  The primary responsibility for initially teaching her to drive fell on my wife and me in the state where we live…

…which means I got to go first teaching her.  One of the things that amazed me right away was that she didn’t say, “Daddy, I already know that.”  Many teenagers think they can drive before they get behind the wheel.  She listened carefully and put into practice what we discussed.

I decided following those first experiences teaching her to drive that the four deadliest words we may ever say are, “I already know that.”  Far too often it seems that an out of control ego prevents genuine learning from taking place.  That it’s a challenge for us to admit—“I don’t know how to do this.”

Whether it’s at work or school or at home, avoid these four deadly words—“I already know that”—suspend your ego needs, and learn something new so you can Live Positive and Work Positive today.

Outdoor Truths

Outdoor Truths
I climbed in the barn again this morning. It was raining steadily and I didn’t feel like doing the whole treestand, umbrella, and rainsuit thing. So I parked underneath, climbed up to the upper level with my book and newspaper, and watched for deer between the raindrops and paragraphs. I know it’s not what you might expect of an avid hunter, but we all get a little tired and lazy at times. The barn to me, however, is not just a place to get in an easy hunt; it’s more of a getaway where I can do a lot of things.
