Another week and another split decision for Rutherford County football. Let's take a look at what happened and what is to come. At least two play at home (9/15) after all four were on the road this past week.

They may not even know the deceased. It doesn't matter. All they know is that he or she served honorably. They're a veteran, and that is all that matters. So they come to do the 'right thing'.

Doris "Joan" Allred, age 78, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017.

Doris Evelyn Philbeck Rhyne, of Charlotte, formerly a resident of River Hills Plantation in Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Dusty Kevin Callahan, 57, passed away Thursday, September, 7, 2017.

Minnie Mae Lee, age 60, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017.

Phyllis Tribble Forrest, 78 of Union Mills passed away on Thursday August 31, 2017.

Ruth Bright, age 83, of Forest City, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017.

It seems that this time of year I get a hunting and fishing catalog or sales paper in the mail about every other day. When you think about all of the stores that sell the equipment we need, it's easy to see why they are vying for our dollar.

Harris Baptist Church

Revival, 9/17/17 until. Rev. Charlie Glover from Spartanburg SC will be bringing the messages. The service on the 17^th will begin at 6pm, rest of service at 7pm. Everyone invited.

Volunteers needed for Korbens Toy Drive on September 30. Kids can bring a new unwrapped toy and play for free from 11am-8pm. Toys donated to and distributed by the Matthew Pannel Shining Star Foundation. We need volunteers to help collect toys, wear costumes, etc. Must be able to pass background check.
