Arthur Nelon, 87

Arthur Nelon, 87, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

A Rutherford County native, he was the son of the late William Jasper and Dovie Ruff Nelon. He was a retired textile employee and a WWII US Navy veteran.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ophelia "Phebe" Nelon of the home; daughters, Sherry Arms (Ron) of Travelers Rest, SC, Donna Oaks of Rutherfordton; son, Scott Nelon of Rutherfordton; sister, Betty Rhodes of Asheville; four grandchildren; two great grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons.

Memorial services were held at Pleasant View Community Church with Rev. Danny McCain officiating
