Arthur William Wilson, age 92

Arthur William Wilson, age 92, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016.

Arthur was a native of Rutherford County. He was the son of the late Evans Carson Wilson and the late Minnie Dyer Wilson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Inez Tomblin Wilson; a sister Pearl White; a brother Ray Wilson.

He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation Road Maintenance Unit in Spindale. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the US Army 11th Airborne, Anti-Aircraft Battalion. Arthur was also a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include: One Daughter: Tina Wilson of Rutherfordton. One Son: Don Wilson and his wife Barbara of Mars Hill. One Brother: Glenn H. Wilson of Morganton.

The funeral service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne White and Reverend Charles McClure officiating. Interment held at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
