Barbara Ann Curtis Kalogiros, 70

Barbara Ann Curtis Kalogiros, 70, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017.

Born in Burke County, she is a daughter of Johnsie Curtis Nelson and the late Dock Wilson Nelson. Barbara was a homemaker, and a member of West Point Baptist Church, Rutherfordton. She loved fishing, bowling, camping, working with the school system, being involved with the West Point Baptist Church prayer chain and food group, and especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dennis Kalogiros of the home; daughters, Kalliopi Leach (Leroy) of Rutherfordton, and Alethea Kalogiros of San Antonio, TX; a son, John Kalogiros (Laura) of Maryville, TN; a brother, William Joseph Childress, Sr. (Laura) of Pensacola, FL and a sister, Betty Turner of Claremont; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and a great grandchild to be.

Funeral services were held in the West Point Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Scarlett officiating. Interment held in the Western NC State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.
