Bertha Dowdle of Union Mills

Bertha Dowdle of Union Mills, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Lester E. Dowdle Sr and Ethel Arrowood Dowdle. She was a member of Thermal City United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her brothers, Johnny R. Dowdle, Tommy L. Dowdle and Dewey Raymond Dowdle, all of Union Mills; and a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Earl Dowdle, Lester E. Dowdle Jr, Robey C. Dowdle and Billy Dowdle; sister Juanita D. Nanney and Bertha's companion of 29 years, Joe Taylor.

Graveside services were held at Round Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Koone and Rev. Jack Bridges officiating

Because of her love of children, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
