Betty Brooks, age 80

Betty Brooks, age 80, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019.

Betty was born July 11, 1938 in Rutherford County, to the late Carl Luther Green and Gladys Snyder. She worked in textiles for many years and was a long-time member of Tanners Grove United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed shopping, gardening and travelling. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Bobby Dean Brooks; sister, Mary Helen Sales and son-in-law, David Timmons.

Those left to treasure her memory include her daughter, Bobbie Timmons of Spartanburg; two brothers, Carl Greene (Natalie) of Kings Mountain and Buddy Green of Forest City; sister, Jo Ann Walker of Forest City; a granddaughter, a grandson and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Kindred Hospice, 905 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
