Betty Jean Bishop Hogan, 91



Betty Jean Bishop Hogan, 91, of Ellenboro, passed away on December 23, 2018.

She was born on December 25, 1923 to Ralph and Mary Farris Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Reverend R. J. Hogan, her parents, Ralph and Mary Farris Bishop, two brothers, Robert Bishop and William Bishop, two sisters, Margaret Robinson and Linda Smith all of the Indianapolis, Indiana area. One step-granddaughter.

She is survived by five children, Rebecca and husband Linwood Campbell, David and wife Abbie Hogan, Beverly Hogan, Kenneth Hogan, Douglas Hogan and wife Cricket, a brother, Charles Bishop of Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other special family and friends.

Betty was a Baptist and currently a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Betty worked faithfully beside her husband in the call of ministry. She was a devoted prayer warrior and dedicated her life to God's service in ministries of music, teaching, women's ministries, children and youth ministries, many other outreach and evangelism ministries. Even in her later years, as a shut in, she continued with a card ministry. Betty's hobbies included jigsaw puzzles and sharing her sewing, knitting, and crafts with others.

A celebration of her life was held at Liberty Baptist Church. Interment followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 821 Webb Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 or Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
