Betty Jean Pritchard Owens, age 58

Betty Jean Pritchard Owens, age 58, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013.  

     Betty was born December 22, 1954 in Polk County, NC to the late Andrew Pritchard and Mary Sue McDaniel Pritchard.  She worked for the Vocational Workshop for many years and was a member of the Church of the Exceptional where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  Besides singing, she also loved listening to Southern Gospel Music.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Owens and one sister, Helen Jeanette Pritchard.

     Survivors include her brother, Larry Pritchard of Ellenboro; four aunts, Sarah Dolan Weatherman of Ellenboro, Edna Wishion of Spindale, Lottie Craig of Swannanoa, NC, Annie Belle Blackwell of Asheville; one uncle, Wayne Craig of Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

      Graveside services were conducted at the Eternal Hills Cemetery with Reverend Pherson Weatherman and Reverend Mattie Lackey officiating.
