Betty Nell Brey Padgett, 80

Betty Nell Brey Padgett, 80, of Mooresboro, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012. 

A native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, she was born on May 18, 1932, a daughter of the late James Henry Brey and Mary Jeanetta Brey. She was a homemaker and was a member of Goode’s Creek Baptist Church where she was a former Nursery Worker and a dedicated church worker. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Emil Jay Padgett and one grandchild, Jade Padgett; two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by three sons, James Padgett and wife Rachel of Forest City, George Padgett and wife Kimberly of Mooresboro and John Padgett of Mooresboro; one sister, Ethel Hickey of New York; two sisters-in-law, Irene Henson and Betty Padgett; her grandchildren & one great grandchild, 

Funeral services were held at Goode’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Cecil Lovelace officiating. Burial followed at Goode’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Rathbun Center, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
