His fellow Marine, Corporal Larry W. Hammett, (on right) was the driver of the vintage ambulance in the Big Day In Ellenboro parade. He also is the man who was recruited for the Marines by the special guest of honor. The special guest of honor was 86 year old Corporal D. L. Simmons (on left) who served in World War II in the First Marine Division.
