Bill Thompson, age 81

Bill Thompson, age 81, of Rutherfordton, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Born November 22, 1934 in Spartanburg County, SC, he was a son to the late Grover Thompson and Annie Pressley Thompson. He was a graduate of Mill Spring High School, class of 1952 and was a truck driver. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Thompson and niece, Anna Maria McAbee.

Survivors include his sister, Ruby Johnson of Inman, SC; sister-in-law, Gladys Melton and two nephews, Barry Thompson and Tony Thompson both of Rutherfordton.

At the request of the family, no formal services will be conducted.
