Billy Jenkins, age 65

Billy Jenkins, age 65, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Born December 30, 1949 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Roy Jenkins and Florence Bradley Jenkins. Billy worked for J.C. Cowan for thirty-two years and for Watts Regulators for several years before retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Lynn Jenkins; daughter, Jennifer Thorp and fiancé, Matthew Whitfield of Shelby; two sisters, Debbie Wright and husband, Gary of Cherryville and Sherry Blankenship and husband, Hershel of Bostic; brother, Johnny Jenkins and wife, Phyllis of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Owen Duncan officiating.

Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 28060-9979.
