Billy L. Ford, age 88

Billy L. Ford, age 88, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Noah Echoles Ford and the late Mary Moffitt Ford. He attended First Wesleyan Church of Forest City. Billy was a former Fire Chief with the Rutherfordton Fire Department and owned his own wrecker service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles, Joe and Noah Ford Jr. and three sisters; Frances Wigmore, Helen Hodge and Lucy Bradley.

He is survived by his wife: Doris Doggett Ford. One Daughter: Billie Ford Dixon of Rutherfordton. One Son: Dean Ford and wife Brenda of Rutherfordton. One Sister: Sarah Dixon of Gastonia, NC. Six Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was at First Wesleyan Church of Forest City with Rev. Eric Yelton officiating. Interment was held at Rutherfordton City Cemetery.
