Billy Wayne Harris, age 71

Billy Wayne Harris, age 71, of Rutherfordton, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014.

Born December 18, 1942, he was a son of the late Mildred Harris Baynes. Billy worked for Milliken Industries for over 20 years before his retirement and was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma “Penny” Geraldine Harris and several siblings.

He is survived by one son, Shannon Harris and a daughter, Paula Harris both of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Keisha Harris; one sister, Wilda Shultz of Rutherfordton and brother, Clayton Henderson of Rock Hill, SC.

Funeral was conducted at Morningstar Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Wilson and Reverend Billy Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
