Bobbie Jewel St. Clair

Bobbie Jewel St. Clair passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

Bobbie was born and raised in Bostic, by her mother and father, Grace and Carl Walker. She was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church where she worshiped and served on various committees during her lifetime and was a graduate of Cool Springs High School. She was instrumental in forming the Cool Springs All Class Reunion committee, which promoted and organized a yearly reunion for all Cool Springs graduating classes.

When Bobbie was diagnosed with breast cancer, she had already been volunteering in the county, but this made her more determined to help others. She was known in Forest City for her involvement with charitable organizations and her cake making, which she gladly gave to the local police and fire departments.

Some of her charitable involvement included her work with the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross where she worked with local blood drives, Hospice of Rutherford County and Rutherford Hospital. Many will remember her as a red tie usher at the "Foundation" at Isothermal Community College. Bobbie worked for more than 33 years in the Science and Technology Libratory at PPG in Shelby. Following her retirement, she continued to work part-time for PPG.

Bobbie was a friend to countless people, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her greatest gift was giving to others in her community and she will be long remembered for her compassion and willingness to serve.

Survivors include her son, Stan St. Clair, wife Janet and daughter Melaney, of Central Point, OR, a granddaughter and her husband and their three children, as well as her brother, Arlen Walker and his wife Diana of Charlotte.

The funeral service was held at the Concord Baptist Church. Rev Travis Laflin and Rev. Dr. Jim Whitlow officiated. Entombment followed in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum.
