Bobby Allen Libera, 72

Bobby Allen Libera, 72, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018. Bobby was born October 31, 1945 in Avery County, and was a son of the late Peter W. and Elizabeth Vance Libera. He retired from food service management with the NC Department of Public Safety, was a member and deacon of Shiloh Baptist Church and also a member of the NC Baptist Men Disaster Relief mass feeding team. Bobby was a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for public service, a US Army Veteran and an avid bear hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Johnson Libera; a son, David Libera and wife Heather; 4 grandchildren all of Forest City; a brother, Bill Libera and wife Regina of Murrells Inlet, SC and a sister, Connie Libera Body of Gadsden, AL.

Funeral services were held at Shiloh Baptist Church. A graveside service was held in the Walker Family Cemetery, Boomer, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 1850 Poors Ford Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
