Boyce Eugene Blanton, age 71

Boyce Eugene Blanton, age 71 of Ellenboro, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016.

He was born September 19, 1944 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late John Roy Blanton and Lillie Watson Blanton Lawing. Boyce was a logger and farmer who worked in and around Rutherford County logging as well as cattle farming for more than fifty years. He was also a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church. His brothers Cyrus Nathan Blanton and William Calvin Blanton preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bradley Blanton, a son, Charles Thomas Blanton and wife Sherri of Rutherfordton, a daughter, Kimberly Blanton Snyder and husband Mark of Ellenboro, his four grandchildren, brothers, Hoyle Stephenson Blanton and wife Nell, Joseph Ronald Blanton and wife Linda, and David Michael Blanton; sisters, Mildred Vernell Blanton Keever and Rita Blanton Ruff and husband Danny.

A funeral service was held in the Caroleen United Methodist Church with Reverend Lucy Robbins and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. In keeping with Boyce's wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
