Brandon Bivens, 29, passed away July 7, 2016 at Hospice House of Rutherford County. Brandon, a native of Rutherford County, was loved by so many people. He had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile and a warm, welcoming personality that everyone loved.

Brandon fought his entire life to be healthy, eventually having a bone marrow transplant in January 2014. Brandon was a fighter and endured a lot in his young life, but he always remained optimistic and would always bounce back, even when things were really tough for him.

Brandon is survived by his husband, Jeff Amann, their two dogs, Louie and Max, and his aunt and uncle, Tamara and Lonnie Koone. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva and Vernon Bivens who raised him.

The world lost a beautiful soul with Brandon, but we find comfort in knowing he is at home with Eva and looking down on us all with his beautiful smile. He will be dearly missed. Brandon's final wish was to be cremated. A small service with family and friends will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brandon's honor to Hospice of Rutherford County P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 3 International Drive Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573, or the Duke University Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Program 710 W. Main St., Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
