Bynum Parker, age 89

Bynum Parker, age 89, of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016.

Born January 23, 1927 in Cleveland County, he was a son to the late Charlie Albert Parker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II. Bynum worked in the textile industry most of his life and was a Baptist. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles and mowers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Coleen Parker and a grandson, Darrell Moore.

Survivors include three sons, Albert Lee Parker and wife, Darlene of Ellenboro, James Maynard Parker of Mooresboro and Ralph William Parker of Ellenboro; one sister, Lillian Gregg of Lake Norman, NC. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lattimore with Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Military honors were rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
