C. P. Queen, age 90, husband of Sally Goode Queen

C. P. Queen, age 90, husband of Sally Goode Queen of Rutherfordton passed away Thursday March 19, 2015.

A native of Shelby, NC, C. P. was the son of the late Clemmie Presley Queen Sr. and Ella Smith Queen Tolleson and was preceded in death by his daughter Sylvia Freeman. He was a member of Southern Baptist Church and a retired weaver for Mastercraft. C.P. served his country in the US Army during WWII.

Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife Sally, is a daughter Martha Norton of Morganton, grandchildren Scott (Jan) McDougal of Morganton, Michael McDougal of Morganton, Angie (David) Biggerstaff of Rutherfordton and Jill Hutchins (Johnny) of Bristol, Va., 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Perry officiating. Military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County or Southern Baptist Church.
