Carolyn Fox Hewitt, age 79

Carolyn Fox Hewitt, age 79 of Henrietta passed away Friday, January 6, 2017.

She was born October 17, 1937 in Union County, SC and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Annlou Arrowood Fox. Carolyn worked for 20 years at the former Community Cash Grocery and 15 years for Cone Mills. She then spent 10 years working in the Bakery at Ingles Grocery in Forest City. She was a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church and loved the beach and camping. Her life revolved around her family and two grandchildren, which she adored. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 57 years, James Carl Edward Hewitt.

Survivors include her son, Robbie Hewitt and wife Pamela of Henrietta, two brothers, Kenneth Fox of Union, SC and Joe Fox of Houston, TX, a sister, Jeanette Gibson of Henrietta, two grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews which she loved.

A memorial service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Lamar Hewett and Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Rutherford County for their love and care of Carolyn and request that memorials be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
