Carolyn Ruth Thompson Dalton, 67, of Lake Lure, NC moved on peacefully from her Dalton family home Wednesday, December 9, 2014.  

She was born July 25, 1947 in Hendersonville, NC to Willie Ruth Lyda Thompson & Richard Eugene Thompson.   Married to R. S. Dalton of Bills Creek, NC on December 11, 1965, she lived her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her.  Long time Merchant at the Western NC Farmer’s Market, She was one of the original “Green Thumbs”, she was happiest in her greenhouses or on her John Deere, communing with Nature. Member of Bills Creek Baptist Church, she often gave more than her tithe to the church and other organizations, like Samaritan’s Purse. She will always be in remembered for her unique laugh, still ringing in the ears of those who’ve ever heard it. 

Survived by children Robbie, Ronnie and Robyn Dalton: Grandchildren Callie, Anna, Isabelle and Ezra Dalton; siblings Brenda, Gary, Wanda, Marilyn, Larry Dean and Linda, all natives of Henderson County, as well beloved pets, Lilly, Marley, Mattie, Macy, Molly, and Milly; as well as a large extended family.

Funeral and interment was held at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church in Lake Lure. Reverend Bruce Bradley officiated, the service assisted by Terell Dillingham.
