Carrie Sprouse Bryson passed away on November, 29, 2019.

She was born in Rutherford County, on February 7, 1975 to the late Steve Sprouse and Barbara Shehan Sprouse. Carrie was passionate about her career as a social worker. Her desire in life was to see that every child had a safe home and loving parents. Carrie was member of Bryson City Church of God.

Carrie graduated high school in 1993 from RS Central High School. She then earned her Associates degree in 1996 from Isothermal Community College. She graduated with honors wearing gold from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1997. She was also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a member of Pi Gamma Mu. Carrie took her first social work mentoring in Rutherford County, from there she traveled to Jackson County for many years. After leaving there her work finally ended at the Swain County, NC Department of Social Services. There her work family gave her love and compassion.

In addition to her mother, she is survived a daughter Keaira Bryson and her dad Curtis Bryson, a stepmother April Bryson, her loving cancer dog, "Buddy", a sister Amy Sprouse Chapman of Forest City, Special aunts Sharon Shehan Parton (Stan) Georgia and Debbie Shehan Sipe (Steve), Lincolnton, three nieces, one great niece, and one great nephew, and Allyson Barnes, a sister of love, who gave Carrie love. Blood doesn't make you family love does.

A memorial service was held at The Bryson City Church of God. A Graveside service was held at The Southern Baptist Cemetery in Rutherfordton.
