Catherine McGinnis Cooper, age 82

Catherine McGinnis Cooper, age 82, passed away January 2, 2018.

A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late James Adam McGinnis and Jessie Mae Henson McGinnis and widow of the late John Harrill Cooper. She was the executive secretary for Mastercraft Corporation, a graduate of Cool Springs High School where she was voted most athletic her senior year and excelled in basketball, and was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Mark Cooper.

Survivors include her sons, Keith Cooper of Forest City, and Scott Cooper of Mooresville; a daughter, Pam Wilkins of Haw River, NC; a brother, Ken McGinnis of Bostic, sisters, Carolyn Harrill of Forest City, Joyce Heavner of Shelby, Judy Webb and Rita Dodson, both of Ellenboro; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Padgett & King chapel. Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dee Pryor Mission Fund c/o Liberty Baptist Church, PO Box 1000, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
