It was another small town show of pride parade that was just one of thousands in America. The Big Day In Ellenboro July 4th Parade, brought the community together. First the parade down Main Street, bedecked with flfl ags all along the route. Then the crowd went over to Depot Street where the Ellenboro Museum shared many historical memories for the towns folk and guest. Vendors with all kinds of treats lined Depot Street and it quickly became the youngsters favorite street. It was a beautiful day - not too hot - but fifi lled with neighbors coming out to declare the true American Spirit. It is times like these that create great memories for all.

Ellenboro, once again, showcases a great holiday and sets the pace for everyone in Rutherford County to join in and celebrate one of the most important days in our history. Memorable quotes from great Americans are still there for us to remember and never forget: “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.” - Thomas Paine; “My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!” -Thomas Jefferson; “All we have of freedom, all we use or know - This our fathers bought for us long, long ago.” - Rudyard Kipling

Words passed down to us since our founding and we love to echo them, once again, on the celebration of our Day of Independence. Isn’t it great to live in America!
