Armed with American flags, students and guests who attended a veteran's program at Forrest Hunt Elementary heard from retired Marine and Army veterans, as well as hearing patriotic selections performed by the second graders and the Chase High School band.
Red, white and blue lined the streets of Forest City in honor of veterans on Nov. 11.
Also held was a patriotic concert at Isothermal Community College's Foundation Performing Arts Center, featuring Rutherford County Symphony and Gardner-Webb University Orchestra. That event was capped off by a fireworks display over the lake.
