Charles Anthony "Chuck" Haynes, age 53

Charles Anthony "Chuck" Haynes, age 53 of Shelby, passed away Monday, December 17, 2017.

Chuck was born in Shelby on September 5, 1964 and worked as a computer analyst. He was a 1982 graduate of Crest High School and received a double major from Gardner-Webb University and went on to receive computer training from IBM. He had also worked for NCNB in Charlotte. Chuck was a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church and was devoted to the puppet ministry in the church. He also served as director of Frontline in Shelby, a youth program for three years.

Chuck was injured in a swimming accident when he was seventeen, which left him disabled. His faith in the Lord and loving devotion of his parents, family, and friends gave him the determination to always move forward. He never complained and he never gave up.

Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Shirley Godfrey Haynes of the home, his uncle, William Lawrence Haynes and wife Rachel of Sunset Beach, NC as well as numerous cousins including, James C. Nanney, Judy Ammons, Philip Godfrey, Roger Trotter, and Randy Schieth.

The funeral service was held in the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. Rev. Chad Sisk and Rev. Leon Brown officiated. Interment followed in the Cool Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202.
