Charles “Booster” Fowler, age 78

Charles “Booster” Fowler, age 78, of Ellenboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 25, 2015.

Born July 20, 1936 in Rutherford County, he was as son of the late Hollis and Lora Fowler.  He worked many years for Fiber Industries and Henrietta/Burlington Industries. He retired from Baxter Healthcare and for the past ten years has worked for Puzzle Creek Battery Sales. He was a member of High Shoal Baptist Church and managed the Tri-Community Little and Senior League Baseball for many years. Booster played softball until he was fifty years old and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and a loyal Dale Earnhardt fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jim Fowler.

He is survived by his wife of over sixty-years, Tina Pearson Fowler; two sons, Tony Ray Fowler and wife, Libby of Ellenboro and Chad Ray Fowler and wife, Tracy of Mt. Holly, NC; five sisters, Betty Graham of Forest City, Ann Murray of Forest City, Margie Ruff and husband, Glendale of Polk County, Mary Helen Greene and husband, Preston of Ellenboro and Linda Faye Anders and husband, Clayton of Inman, SC; one brother, Danny Fowler of Ellenboro. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Heather Harris and husband, Thad, Kassie Ray Fowler and Kirk Fowler; three great-grandchildren, Bella, Bailee and Bristol Harris.

A memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt and Reverend John Godfrey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
