Charles Ray Haynes, age 70

Charles Ray Haynes, age 70 of Bostic, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017.

Ray was born in Forest City on January 10, 1947 to his parents, the late Haggard Alex and Edith Freeman Haynes. He started his career in auto sales in 1974 and in 1980 became a partner in H-Hamrick & Haynes Auto Sales in Forest City which he operated until his retirement. Ray was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church where he was involved in the Church Brotherhood and the Fellowship Committee. He was a 1965 graduate of East Rutherford High School and served his country in the United States Army.

Ray truly enjoyed fellowship with his friends each day as they would gather to eat together. He also was an avid golfer, fisherman and he loved to travel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Haynes.

Survivors include his wife and high school sweetheart, Janice Hardin Haynes, two daughters, Gina Haynes Hamrick and husband Clint of Bostic, Christy Haynes Bernhardt and husband Britt of Mooresville, NC, a sister, Linda Haynes Phillips of Bostic, his mother-in-law, Sue Bradley Hardin of Bostic, four grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating. Interment l followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church Building Fund, 630 S. Church Street, Forest City, NC 28043 or South Mountain Christian Camp, Post Office Box 9, Bostic, NC 28018.

The Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
