Charles William Glawson, 74

Charles William Glawson, 74, of Valdese, NC, formerly of Forest City, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Howard Glawson and Bertha Matheny Glawson and worked in construction for many years.

Survivors include his daughter, Jane Powell and husband Stan, of Boiling Springs, NC; sons, Brian Glawson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, David Glawson of Waynesville, NC and Gary Glawson; a brother, George Glawson, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a special friend Diane Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Glawson.

A memorial service was held in the Padgett & King Chapel. Interment will be held privately for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
