Charlotte Johnston “Lulu” Hatfield, age 52

Charlotte Johnston “Lulu” Hatfield, age 52, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014.

Born November 2, 1961 in Logan County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late David Rufus Johnston, Sr. and Freda Mae Foust Johnston.  She was a homemaker and worked for various fast food restaurants and cleaning services.  She was a member of the Faith Praise and Worship Center of Forest City.  Charlotte enjoyed riding horses, needlework crafts and working on cars.

Survivors include her husband, Lionel W. Hatfield; son David Kent Sheppard of Pinhook, Virginia; two daughters, Barbara Ellen Cole and husband, David and Margie Mae Sheppard all of Forest City; four brothers, David Rufus Johnston, Jr. of Elk Creek, West Virginia, Pletz Oscar Johnston of Sandy Mush, James Hale Johnston of Bruno, West Virginia and Roy Rodger Johnston of Henrietta; two sisters, Virgie Anna Stanley of Sandy Mush Violet Campbell of Henrietta. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted at the Faith Praise and Worship Center with Reverend Mark Lattimore officiating.
