Cheryl Smith Short, age 60

Cheryl Smith Short, age 60, of Bostic, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Billy Ray Smith and Marina Sue Rollins Smith. Cheryl worked with STI as a customer service representative and was a member of First Broad Baptist Church, Bostic. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed holidays, especially Christmas.

Survivors include her son, Israel Short and wife Carrie; sisters Wanda McGee and husband Gregg, and Melinda Greene and husband Michael; three grandchildren; nephews, Joshua Chapman, Treg McGee and wife April, and Craig McGee and wife Mandy.

Funeral services were held at First Broad Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Bradley and Rev. Scott Huffman officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 2470 NC Hwy 226, Bostic, NC 28018.
