The Power of the Story, Communities In Schools 17th Annual Training Institute

   Maria Davis, Site Coordinator Chase Middle, Jackie Hampton, CISRC Board Member, Amy Revis, Site Coordinator Spindale Elementary, Sarah Petty, Site Coordinator East Middle, Jeff Sappenfield, Site Coordinator RS Middle, Arnette Tolhurst, Mentor Manager, and Cheryl Washburn, Site Coordinator Cliffside Elementary joined Executive Director, Charlotte Epley for 3 days of training and networking with Communities In Schools’ Leaders from around the state of North Carolina and our National Office. The Institute took place  on February 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Featured Speakers included Dr. Shelly Stewart of the Mattie C. Stewart Foundation sponsors of the Choice Bus which will be in Rutherford County March 22nd-25th;  Christian Moore author of the WhyTry Program; Lonnie Moore with Franklin Covey and Mitch Capel, known as “Gran’daddy Junebug”. Thirty-two workshop sessions were offered during the 3 days along with opportunities for “curbside consulting”.  Amy Revis explained, “We were able to talk with other coordinators learning about their programs and sharing ideas. I was especially excited to have more information about Camp Challenge since two of our students at Spindale will be going this summer. It was just a great opportunity to learn.”
