Bingo at the VFW
Every Thursday night at 6PM. Refreshments & food are available for purchase. The top prize for the last game is $500. Proceeds from bingo benefit veterans in the surrounding communities. Located on Withrow Road. Forest City.

The Military Order of Purple Heart
Is starting a chapter in the Forest City, NC area and is seeking all veterans of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard who has been combat wounded in America’s wars and have received the Purple Heart medal. The Purple Heart is America’s oldest decoration presented by the U.S. Government which was started by General George Washington on August 7, 1782. It is awarded to members of the armed forces who are wounded at the hands of the enemy and posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in action or died or wounds received in action.
