Community Event: The MLK Committee of the New Hope Community & the Rutherfordton Ministries Alliance Committee invites the public to the 2018 MLK Program Celebration, Sun. Jan. 14, 4pm at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church; N Main Str., Rutherfordton. Several Speakers, MLK Community Choir along with other community presenters. Program will continue at the Court House lawn & end at First Baptist Church, Main Street for a meet & greet reception.

Beginner Beekeeping Course: Begins Jan. 20 thru Feb 17, (5 Saturdays), 8am-12pm. Cost $40 per person or $70 couple. Sponsored by the Rutherford County Beekeepers Association. Second Harvest Mobile Food Truck: Thursday, Janury 25, arrive no later than 8am, food distributed in your car around 10am. Providence UMC, 161 Providence Church Rd, Forest City, off Chase High Road. Paws of RC is offering free spay and neuter for all Rutherford County Pitt Bulls and Pitt mixes. Due to the high euthanasia rate of Pitt Bulls in our Animal Control Facility. Cats $25, and all other dogs are $35 if they have a current rabies vaccination. A $10 additional charge for the rabies vaccine if needed. We also have pet food and dog houses for those in need.
