Community Event: Join the Omega Sigma Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in its Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service 2018 Wipe Out Challenge to benefit Grace of God Rescue Mission in Rutherford County. Help them Wipe Out the current need of Toilet Paper! The women in the sorority are working on their family strengthening initiative, they've issued a challenge to all sororities, fraternities, civic & local organizations, & area church groups to WIPE OUT a need in our community. Community Event: The MLK Committee of the New Hope Community and the Rutherfordton Ministries Alliance Committee invites the public to the 2018 MLK Program Celebration, Sun. Jan. 14, 4pm at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church; N Main St., Rutherfordton. Speakers, MLK Community Choir & other community presenters. The program will continue at the Court House lawn and end at First Baptist Church, Main Street for a Meet and Greet Reception.

Looking for a place to use your talents as a volunteer? We take youth as young as 6th grade up to senior adults. We have opportunities in our food pantry, mobile food trucks, thrift store, food pantries, processing donations. Call us at 828-247-0096 or just pop in Mon-Fri, 8.30am-2.30pm.
