Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop: Open Wed.-Sat., 10am-4pm. Gifts, home goods and furniture. We accept donations of food and bedding supplies for dogs & cats waiting to be adopted. Donations are tax deductible. Volunteers needed! 305 Buffalo Creek Rd., Lake Lure.
PAWS of Rutherford County: Free spay and neuter for all RC Bully Breeds and for other breeds whose owners are on public assistance. We have dog houses, food, and straw for those in need. If you have any dog houses you would like to donate, please call us. If you need to re-home your pet or have a litter of puppies, we may be able to help you. Chase Corner Ministries offers every Wednesday FREE USDA Food from 9am-2pm. Families who receive this food may only get it every other month, but many items have multiple quantities to last your family a couple of months. You must be a Rutherford County resident and meet income requirements to qualify. The food is good quality and quantity. Another option is our Mobile Food Trucks once every month. 828-247-0096.
