BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center to visit Tri City Mall in Forest City on Sat. Feb. 18, 9am-5:30pm to offer free, convenient mammogram screenings. Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months and have a primary care physician are eligible by calling 855-655-2662 to schedule an appt. After receiving their mammograms, women also can receive complimentary bra fittings.

Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregivers Support Group: meets on every 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Perry Moore house on Main St., Rutherfordton. Free and open to all caregivers. 828-287-5475.

Suicide Charity Concert

In Ya Faith Gospel Music Outreach presents the Broken and Mended Tour to benefit Suicide Prevention Outreach Gospel Music Concert on Fri. Feb. 17, 7pm at Shelby Recreation Center; 850 W. Free/Low Cost Rabies Vaccine

Sun. Feb. 19, 10am-2pm at Rutherford County Health Department; 221 Callahan Koon Rd, Spindale. Rabies Vaccine is FREE for pets whose owners are Veterans (active & retired) & those on Public Assistance (Food Stamps, Medicaid, etc.) Must bring proof of PA or Military ID & Valid ID to show residency in Rutherford County. $5 for general public. Limited number of Canine 5-Way Vaccines for $5 each. The Tdap Vaccine will be offered from 10am-12pm.

Memory Makers

Alzheimer's Support and Resource Group, Thurs. Feb. 23, 6-7:30pm. This group is for anyone dealing with Alzheimer's disease, any stage, in any capacity. The first meeting held at Brookdale Forest City: 493 Piney Ridge Road, Forest City. Melanie Scruggs (Brookdale Forest City) and April Hicks (Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center) will be facilitating the meeting. We plan to meet quarterly throughout the year. Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop
