Come to Shelby PetSmart Sat. March 19, 10am-3pm & meet great dogs for adoption. All dogs $75, have been spayed or neutered, UTD on shots & HW negative. Volunteers will be there to answer questions. Collecting food for our pet food pantry, donations for Vet fund & Low Cost Spay & Neuter.

61st Annual Easter Sunrise Service
Sun. March 27; gate opens 5am-6am for 7am service. Celebrate the glory of Easter with song, scripture and spiritual music as a spectacular sunrise ascends over Lake Lure. Chimney Rock's annual Easter Sunrise Service has become a legendary event attracting more than 1,000 early risers from around the Southeast each year.
ECA Scholarship
Rutherford County Extension & Community Association (ECA) announces its 2016 scholarships. High school seniors, full-time college students, and adults wanting to attend college are eligible. North Carolina residents planning to attend a NC accredited college, community college or technical institute in the fall of 2016 may apply. Applications are available at all high schools and at Cooperative Extension. The Rutherford County ECA Scholarship deadline is April 1, 2016. 828-287-6020.
Women Build 2016: Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Sat. May 7, with shifts from 8am-12pm & 1pm-4pm. The build will be in Hopeview Estates, a Habitat for Humanity subdivision, in Spindale. Lunch & T-shirt provided. Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop
Open Wed. thru Sat., 10am-4pm. Proceeds benefit the Rutherford County Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit 501(C)(3) animal rescue organization.
